"After a year of begging for piano lessons by our youngest child we finally agreed on the condition that both our daughters would try and would have to complete a full year before quitting. Due to their age (6 and 12) and the displeasure voiced by our eldest, I was certain it would be a long year ahead as I remembered my own 5 years of lessons and the relief I felt when I could finally quit. It is now 7 years later since we've been taking lessons with Irina and the girls are 13 and 19!! Irina quickly connected with each of the girls, with their individual learning methods and musical abilities. Her endless energy, enthusiasm and love of music were and still are contagious. She has somehow managed to balance and make enjoyable the sometimes dreary requirements like, theory, posture, hand and finger positioning, timing and scales with the playing of classical, contemporary and pop music. She also encouraged our eldest to actually write out the music by ear for a song that she really wanted to learn while Irina found the music sheets. The experience while challenging was very rewarding when she compared how close she had come to the original score. Our eldest is now completing her grade 8 RCM, although quite challenging, as she is in her second year at York and the younger one is working on her grade 6 RCM. They would never have come this far were it not for Irina's dedication, patience and passion. We are all very pleased and blessed with the gift of music Irina has brought into our family."

I highly recommend music lessons with Irina.  You will achieve more than you ever imagined. Irina’s knowledge and enthusiasm ensures every lesson is fun and challenging, and part of a program that Irina has tailored just for me, based on my goals and interests. Switching from in person to online lessons was easy, and I actually prefer online lessons. With multiple cameras, Irina delivers lessons that are easy to connect to and participate in.  From basic skills and playing songs, to music theory, ear training and music history, the joy that music can bring to one’s life is always at the forefront.  Having taken up the piano later in life, it is especially important to me to correctly learn the technical aspects of playing piano, as well as the nuances of music interpretation in order to properly present a piece of music to an audience. Irina has helped immensely and made it possible to finally fulfill a lifelong dream of playing the piano.

Irina is not only a fantastic and accomplished musician with an incredible musical talent and knowledge, but also a great and committed teacher. She is not the type of teacher that just teaches what she is supposed to, but she is working with the student and the parents to understand the child learning style and adapts her teachings to make sure the student understand in depth and retains the information - the results and successes of her students clearly show that. I have to say that I did not meet a more committed teacher through my daughter's multiple music type lessons, and I do credit to Irina my daughter's great results and accomplishments.
